A Simple Way to ‘Concentrate’ on Grease Trap Maintenance

FOG (fat, oil, and grease) buildup is a common problem at restaurants and food processing facilities. These fatty and greasy wastes are often collected in grease traps to prevent FOG overload in the wastewater discharge. However, grease traps are often overloaded themselves, releasing bad odors, requiring pumping, and sometimes overflowing to the sewer system for high surcharges, nonetheless. The good news is that, since microorganisms love to “eat” FOG, a little biological treatment can go a long way toward avoiding these problems!
